If you follow us on social media you saw we went for a few days getaway (mini babymoon) up north in York, we were welcome by the North Star Club a stunning magical woodland retreat. Magical really is a small word for what we have experienced. We arrived at night (did we get lost noooo way we never do ahah) David at the camp was there to greet us with his cute dog Eddie. Thank god someone was there to show us around we would have gotten lost it’s so beautifully big.
We did a lot of driving that day through the Yorkshire Dales and were exhausted, we settled and straight away started a fire in the bedroom got the playing cards out and jumped in a warm bath. It was pure heaven, we want to refurbish our bathrooms so it gave us a million idea about wet rooms and stand alone bath. We slept like babies seriously no noise at all and pitch black is really helpful for a good night sleep. We also fell asleep with the fire on which was a first for us and this noise is just perfection (better than a lullaby)
Breakfast in bed for, hot chocolate to start the day well, we chilled until 11 and then went to do some s’mores because really who wouldn’t with an outdoor fire pit. We really loved the fact that it felt safe and secured but also that nobody was bothering us, checking on us too often and that even though there were other people around we did NOT see anyone for more than 10 sec. The camp was ours (well and Eddie’s hahah).
The forest around is so vast you could walk for hours which makes it very special especially at this time of year where it’s all frosty in the morning and gloomy it actually makes it spooky and fun. The main woodshed had a little coffee and cake station with a big table and comfy fury sofas perfect for a little reading nook mid afternoon when it’s getting dark.
Honestly perfection this place I highly recommend it if you want to escape the stressful life of big cities and switch off from everything (no tv and no wifi a dream for a blogger’s husband haha)
More on the part 2 …
Massive thank you to Carolyn and her husband (the owners) for having us to this magical place and the wonderful team at The North Star Club.
